Jarosinski & Vaugoin throughout the years.
1847
The beginning
Carl Vaugoin, a silversmith of French descent, comes to Vienna as a journeyman and stays. He opens his silver manufactory in Vienna and specializes in heavy, hand-beaten flatware. At this time, Vienna has 300 silversmiths.
1873
Vienna World's Fair
Vaugoin participates in the Vienna World's Fair and is awarded several medals. The workshop's international reputation is established.
1901 & 1908
Jarosinski enters
Jean Vaugoin concludes an inheritance contract with the Polish silversmith Ladislaus Jarosinski. Jarosinski specialized in masterful silver cutlery – a perfect match. The company receives its double name: L. Jarosinski & J. Vaugoin.
In 1908, the workshop moves to Zieglergasse 24 in Vienna's 7th district. An address that has remained unchanged ever since.
1955
Austrian State Treaty
On the occasion of the signing of the Austrian State Treaty, Vaugoin crafted a silver model of the Donner Fountain — as a gift to the Soviet Union. Craftsmanship as diplomacy.
1969
The Saliera for Queen Elizabeth II
For Queen Elizabeth II's state visit to Vienna, Vaugoin crafted a silver replica of Benvenuto Cellini's famous Saliera — the original is gold. A testament to the workshop's mastery, which remains unique in history.
Today
